Pet Therapy

Meet our Pet Therapy Animals!

Traveling can create stress, especially at airports. The Dane County Regional Airport Pet Therapy Team provides stress relief and comfort to passengers through interaction with certified therapy pets.

When are the pet therapy animals at MSN?

There is not a specific schedule. Since the MSN pet therapy teams are all-volunteer, they create their own schedules, though they do try to visit MSN on days and at times when there might be more travelers at the airport.

I’m interested in volunteering my dog and I for the pet therapy team – how do I get started?

All airport therapy dog volunteers must be certified therapy dogs. Most of our volunteers are certified through Pet Partners or the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (formerly Therapy Dogs, Inc.). If your dog is already certified and you’re interested in joining the airport’s therapy dog program, please contact Michael Riechers, Director of Marketing and Communications, by email. He will provide details about the airport security badge application process and answer any questions you may have about the program.

The Team!
